    Hey David!

Happy Launch Day! Steve and I are waiting for the work day to end so we can play Braid all evening. Hope to hear from you soon. Congrats on a wonderful achievement!

Just played worlds two & three. Lush and readable, and the backdrops are mesmorizing!

Thought I’d mention: your images load on the main page but are broken on the pages of individual posts. The problem might be using relative paths?

    Er, mesmerizing.

  4. David Hellman Says:

    Thanks guys!

And thanks for noticing that, Matthew . . .

Now I envy those people who are playing for the first time. The only bad thing about Braid is that… there’s only one first time. Like love…

Good luck with the release. I’ll buy it tomorrow morning (here in Spain it’s 2:09) to replay it and take a look to the translation.

PD: I think the publishers of our book are on holidays, and they didn’t send you the book yet, but we’re trying to send you as soon as possible.

I had no idea what I was going to get when I downloaded the trial for braid on the xbox, and as soon as the game started up I knew you had done the art. I recognized it from the comic a “lesson is learned but the damage is irreversible,” and it is amazing. It really brings something different to the game that just ties everything together. Its a wonderful game to play and just look at and enjoy!

Awesome work - well done to all involved

I know you addressed this in The Art of Braid but it might be worth pointing out that the title screen is a city at sunset and not on fire, which I initially thought and have seen in a couple reviews as well.

The game is incredible and your art was absolutely wonderful.

  9. David Hellman Says:

Yeah, that was something I was concerned about, but … the game’s out there now, it doesn’t belong to me. If people are going to see a city in flames, I can’t really stop them!

    Glad you like the game.
