1 Wallpaper + 3 Monitors = 4

April 24th, 2008

This photo of the 3 monitor Braid wallpaper in action comes from Paul Broadbent of Birmingham, England. He was the first (and only?) person to take seriously my suggestion that the panoramic screenshot collage from the last Art of Braid article would make a great super-wide background.

Paul is obviously a man of taste and sophistication, but the Braid wallpaper pushes him into the realm of Visionary Trendsetter.

Here it is again:

Anyway, nice job, Paul! Thanks for sharing!

I would totally use the wallpaper, but it’s just not tall enough. I have two 24″ lcd’s just dying for some love… but I assume there was never a real need to have it be over 720p, right?

Well, it is made from game screenshots. The game is 1280×720. So yeah, unless I assembled it from the original art – which is not as easy as it might sound, because that’s pre-particles – it’s going to be 720 pixels tall.

    What size would be ideal?

i also would love to have the title screen in 1920×1200 ;)

But i can imagine how much work it would be to rebuild that scene in Photoshop - guess we must learn to live with a slightly blurry upscaled solution ;)

Thank you for the full screen version!!! I think I’m going to print it and hang in in a blank boring wall that I got in my apartment! Braid was de best game I played this year and it well deserves it!
